The exhibition : COUR[s] [d]ECOL[l]E RECRE[e] brings together artists Justin Ebanda, Dieudonné Fokou, Lindokuhle Khumalo and Morgan Mahape around the theme of childhood.
What is it to be a child? How do we view childhood ? What does this concept imply ? Games, rights, duties, carelessness… What about child labour ? Violence and exile ? Finally, what representations of childhood are offered by the artists ?
Galerie Carole Kvasnevski proposes to explore different artistic representations of childhood…
Through childlike figures and silhouettes, our artists portray the concepts of transmission and inheritance, the future of our children, near and far, the future of our societies, the scratches and scars.
Today, perhaps more than ever, we need to think about these crucial questions. One of the solutions to carry out this task is perhaps to turn to youth, or to jump back to it for a moment, then regularly to draw vital resources from it, to act as if we had the Peter Pan Syndrome.
To return to childhood...
It is to adhere to the proposal to be astonished by everything, to see the unexpected, the surprise arise. To marvel at the richness of the vast world which we live in.
Let's rediscover this lost curiosity...
How?
To return to childhood is also to be permeable to the winds, currents and mountains of learning, knowledge and youth. To see the invisible, to feed our fertile imaginations.
Let' open ourselves,
Let's feed our curiosity
Let's play...
